I’m very grateful to the Erik Jones Foundation and the Sun Bus for taking the time to screen me for my spots on my face. It turned out to be basal cell carcinoma. I’m being proactive and having the MOHRS surgery in the next week. If any doubt … get checked!!!

I received a screening by the Sun Bus while on RAGBRAI, July 2023, in Aimes, IA.

A suspicious lesion was identified in the screening. I followed up with my Dermatologist who sent a lesion sample for a biopsy which identified as an In Situ Melanoma. Last week the Melanoma was successfully removed.

Every one of the Sun Bus staff was very nice and professional. They answered my questions and addressed any concerns I had. Thank you for providing the skin cancer screening services and for the sunscreen/sunblock samples. I also liked the brochure on what to look for with skin moles (ABCDE) and will do self-checks on my skin on a regular basis.

I have always had regular skin checks due to skin cancer in my family history. My insurance no longer covers routine checks and was very expensive. I hadn't had a check due to cost, so I was very happy to see the skin bus and Elta MD at the bike ride! They were so welcoming, encouraging, professional, clean, and knowledgeable! I was relieved to get my check done and feel better about my overall health. 

I really appreciate the Sun Bus. It caught a spot of skin cancer that I wouldn’t have had seen by a doctor. The staff were amazing. They answered questions and provided the info I needed. Thank you!

I can't express enough gratitude to the team that found the melanoma on my husband's back. I would have never noticed it with all the other freckles. We were able to get it removed within the week and are now getting checks every 3 months.
